The six-step verification process

When your plastic arrives at Unit 18, it goes through a six-step process before payment is released. Each step is recorded and tied to your receipt and deed.

Step 1 Arrival & logging Your delivery is received at Unit 18. Supplier name, date, and time are recorded on arrival.
Step 2 Polymer check Material is checked to confirm it is a single polymer type. Mixed plastic is not accepted.
Step 3 Weight recorded The delivery is weighed on-site. Weight is recorded in tonnes to two decimal places.
Step 4 Deed minted A Digital Plastic Recovery Note is created at £450 per tonne, with a unique SHA-256 hash.
Step 5 Payment released £200 same-day payment is released to the supplier. No delay. No conditions beyond acceptance.
Step 6 40 meals funded Every tonne automatically funds 40 community meals. Recorded on the Life Ledger.
