The Tag System
+ The MT Mark

Small thing. Big meaning. Tags make the library searchable at speed. The MT mark makes Midland Polymer Trading ownable at law. Both are the same instinct: make it findable and make it yours.

What the tag system does, how it works, and where to add to it. Plus exactly how to activate the MT trademark — what to register, what it costs, and where it appears in the CircularOS system.

The Tag System

"Small thing. Means big." — You were right. Here's why.

The library has two filter systems: categories (what type of doc) and tags (what the doc is actually about). Categories are vertical — they separate. Tags are horizontal — they connect. A document about the Genesis Pool might sit in the Economics category, but it also carries the genesis-pool tag and the covenant tag. That means you can find every covenant-related document regardless of which category it lives in. One click. Every relevant doc surfaces. That's the speed you're describing.

14 Cross-Cutting Tags

Each one connects documents across the entire library — economics, operations, strategy, intelligence, everything.
dPRN Covenant 40 Meals H.BLUE Gateway Pioneer EPR Genesis Pool Truth Ledger Retail Territory Legacy Sovereign Credit International
1
What a tag does
A tag marks what a document is fundamentally about — not its category, but its theme. A document can carry up to 3 tags. Every document with the same tag is connected in the filter, regardless of category.
2
How to add a tag to any document
Open sovereign_docs_data.py. Find the TAGS_MAP dictionary at the bottom (after CATEGORY_COLORS). Add one line:
"your-doc-slug": ["tag1", "tag2"],
3
How the dual filter works in the library
Category filter and tag filter work together with AND logic. Click Economics and Covenant — you only see economics documents that are also tagged Covenant. Click All Tags or All Categories to reset. Search works on top of both filters simultaneously.
4
Where tags appear on each document card
Every operational document card in the library shows coloured tag chips at the bottom. The chip colours match the tag pill in the filter bar — visual consistency at a glance. The recently-added blocks at the top of the library also carry data-tags attributes so the filter captures them too.
5
Why this matters at 216 MDs
At 216 documents, without a cross-cutting tag system, finding every covenant-related document means scanning 8 categories manually. With tags: one click on Covenant. Done. At 500 MDs the difference is exponential. The tag system is the library's long-term nervous system.

Part Two · Brand Protection
Midland Polymer Trading Ltd ™
Co. 16977671 · Director: Ms H Naseem · B66 Smethwick
You can use the ™ symbol right now — no registration required. ™ is an unregistered trademark claim. It tells the world: this name, this brand, this mark belongs to you. The ® symbol comes after formal registration and grant (typically 4–6 months from application). The question isn't whether to trademark. The question is what to trademark, in which classes, and in which order.

What to Trademark — In Priority Order

You own the company. These are the marks that generate revenue and need protection.
CircularOS™
Use ™ Now
The operating system brand. The flagship mark. Register this first — it is the architecture everything else sits on.
dPRN™
Use ™ Now
Digital Plastic Recovery Note. Your core financial instrument. This is the product. Protect it before anyone else claims the abbreviation.
40 Meals™
Use ™ Now
Your social impact conversion mark (1 tonne = 40 meals). Highly distinctive. Protectable as a service mark in Class 40 and 44. Start using ™ today.
Sovereign Credit™
Register
The pre-minted credit designation. Financial services class. Register after CircularOS and dPRN are filed.
FullLoop™
Register
FullLoop Mail Ltd / FullLoop International. Register once the core CircularOS mark is filed.
Genesis Pool™
Phase 2
Register when the Pool is deployed commercially. Premature registration draws attention before you're ready to defend it.

Which Classes to Register In

UK trademark registration is per class. Register in the classes that cover your actual services — not everything.

How to Put the MT Mark Into Play

Practical steps. In order. No legal jargon.
1
Start using ™ on CircularOS, dPRN, and 40 Meals™ today
No registration needed. You can use ™ right now on every document, every dPRN certificate, every footer. This establishes prior use — which matters in a dispute. Update the footer on this system and every PSA/document you send.
Cost: £0. Time: 1 hour to update existing documents.
2
Search the UKIPO register before filing
Before you file, check that "CircularOS" and "dPRN" aren't already registered by someone else. Go to trademarks.ipo.gov.uk → Trade mark search. Search both exact terms and similar marks.
Cost: £0. Time: 30 minutes.
3
File CircularOS in Class 40 and Class 35 (online, as the company)
File at gov.uk/apply-for-a-trademark. File in the name of Midland Polymer Trading Ltd (Co. 16977671) — not your personal name. One application can cover multiple classes. The examiner will review within 2–3 months and publish for opposition for 2 months. If no opposition, it's granted.
Cost: £170 for first class online + £50 per additional class. So Class 40 + Class 35 = £220.
4
File dPRN in Class 40 and Class 36
File as a separate application from CircularOS — they are distinct marks. "dPRN" as a word mark. Class 40 for the recycling/verification service. Class 36 for the financial instrument nature of the token.
Cost: £220 for two classes. Total spend to date: £440.
5
Once granted, switch ™ to ® on all registered marks
Only use ® after the trademark is formally granted. At that point update all document footers, the CircularOS platform, the dPRN certificates, and every PSA. ® is a legal symbol — misuse is a criminal offence in the UK. Until grant: ™ only.
Timeline: 4–6 months from filing to grant if uncontested.

The Connection — Why These Two Things Are In the Same Document
Tags and the MT Mark are the same instinct. Different expression.
Tags
Organisation Speed
Makes the system findable. Every document is reachable through its tags. No document is hidden in the wrong category. Speed of access = speed of deployment.
=
MT Mark
Brand Protection Speed
Makes the system ownable. Every product is protected through its mark. No brand is vulnerable to imitation. Speed of protection = freedom to deploy.
Same instinct: You want the system to work for you, not against you. Tags remove friction in navigation. The MT mark removes friction in ownership. At 216 MDs and 625 revenue streams, both are infrastructure, not decoration. The small thing that means big is always infrastructure.
™ 🏛️ 🔍
"Tags make the library a searchable system. The MT mark makes the business an ownable system. One click — every covenant document surfaces. One filing — every dPRN certificate carries legal weight. Small things. Big meaning. That's infrastructure."
