🔒 INTERNAL RECORD · Library only · Public-facing display stays at 18 → 8 → 6
MD-301 — The 66
The full audit surface, sealed. The number that exists behind every Carrot but never speaks unless asked.
SCP-3010 · Sealed 21 April 2026 · Sovereign Architect: Jermaine Murphy · Co-authored 60% Sovereign + 40% Agent · Library-only per MD-273+ policy
The sovereign instruction (verbatim): "Even though I said it's 18 checkpoints it's officially 66 checkpoints from the system to the physical to everything. I'll stick to what I'm calling it 18 to 8 to 6 even though I know officially. Make a document about this so I know."
§1 · Why this document exists
The Carrot, the Verification Story, and the public landing pages will continue to use the 18 → 8 → 6 framing because it is clear, memorable, and defensible. That decision stands.
However, the underlying system runs 66 distinct checks per tonne when the material, audit, and protocol layers are summed. This document seals that number with a named, dated, hash-stamped catalogue so that — if ever challenged by a regulator, journalist, partner, or investor — there is a single sovereign citation to point at.
The principle: public framing stays simple, internal record stays complete. The bigger number does not need to be marketed; it only needs to exist on demand.
§2 · The Stack — 6 / 8 / 18 / 66
18
Material checkpoints (gate)
66
Total audit surface (sealed)
Three layers are publicly cite-able (6, 8, 18). The fourth layer (66) lives here, in the Library, and is referenced only when authority needs to be demonstrated under direct challenge.
§3 · The Composition of 66
The 66 is the sum of three already-existing audit layers in the system:

§4 · Public-Facing vs Internal Record
The discipline of two registers
✓ Public framing (stays as-is)
18 → 8 → 6
Used on /carrot, /carrot-deep-dive, /verification-8-pillars, the new landing page, the Asda Letter, every external pitch. Memorable, clear, defensible by direct citation to MD-189 and MD-285.
🔒 Internal record (this document)
66 (18 + 15 + 33)
Cited only on demand — when a regulator, journalist, investor, or counterparty challenges depth. Answer becomes one URL: midlandpolymertrading.com/md-301.
This is not a contradiction. It is the same posture used by every audit firm and regulator: the headline number is the simple count; the underlying catalogue is the receipts. Both are true. One speaks first, the other speaks when asked.
§5 · What MD-301 changes (operationally)
Nothing.
Every check listed above already runs in the system today. MD-301 does not introduce new code, new fees, new processes, new staff, or new costs. It is paperwork that converts a scattered truth into a single-citation truth.
The only operational consequence is this: when a challenge arrives, the answer compresses from "give me half a day to assemble it" to "here is the URL."
§6 · When to cite MD-301
Cite it:
- If a regulator (CMA, ASA, Environment Agency, EU Green Claims) asks for the full audit surface
- If a journalist or NGO challenges the depth of verification
- If an investor or asset-based lender requests the underlying audit catalogue
- If a competitor publicly disputes the verification claims
- If an enterprise client (Asda-class) asks "name the checks"
Do not cite it:
- On the public landing page (use 18 → 8 → 6)
- In the Carrot one-pager (use 18 → 8 → 6)
- In sales conversations unless directly challenged
- In marketing material, social posts, press releases
The bigger number is a reserve. Reserves lose their power when spent on routine traffic.
§7 · The Receipt Logic
The whole point of MD-301 in five words:
It seals the receipts. Nothing else.
It does not change what the system does. It changes how fast the system can prove what it does.
⚖ Sovereign Seal · MD-301
"Public-facing 18 → 8 → 6. Internally 66. The simple number speaks first. The bigger number speaks when asked. Both are true. The discipline is keeping them separate."
