Blackpool. Twelve kilometres from Bispham through the Tower stretch down to Squires Gate. Eighteen million visitors a year. The illuminations. The Pleasure Beach. The trams. Blackpool gets the highest tourist footfall outside London, and it shows on the sand. Our sovereign load estimate is 410 kilos per kilometre — the heaviest band of any UK beach we surveyed. Total plastic available: 4.92 tonnes per pass. Under the dPRN floor that is 2,214 pounds of verified value. One hundred and ninety seven meals funded. Three hundred and ninety four volunteer hours — one big community Saturday with sixty people on the prom. Seven point four tonnes of CO2 equivalent kept off the books. Blackpool is the political beach. Working-class town. High deprivation index. Funding for clean-up has been cut three years running. Our offer to Blackpool Council is blunt: we run the operation, we log the tonnes, you pay nothing, we feed two hundred local people from the proceeds, and you get a press release every quarter showing the verified figures. Four runs a year is twelve thousand kilos of plastic counted, eighteen and a half thousand pounds of dPRN value moving through Lancashire, 788 meals into the food bank network. Blackpool is where the model gets its political teeth.
