The highest plastic load on our global twelve at 520 kilos per kilometre — Rio sits at the mouth of one of the busiest urban estuaries in the southern hemisphere and the beach pays the price. Can the Sovereign Beach model integrate with an existing volunteer infrastructure of thousands of people, where our role is not to do the work but to verify, log, and convert it into a transferable receipt? The Brazilian pitch is to a partner NGO who runs the boots-on-the-ground operation, we run the ledger and the receipt issuance. Their volunteers walk the sand. Our system pays them in verified tonnes. Four passes a year and Copacabana funds 332 verified meals into the favelas above the bay.
