St Andrews West Sands. Three kilometres of Fife coast that ran the opening sequence of Chariots of Fire. Adjacent to the Old Course. Adjacent to the university. The cleanest band in our Scottish survey at 210 kilos per kilometre. Total available: 0.63 tonnes per pass. dPRN floor: 284 pounds. Twenty five meals funded. Fifty volunteer hours — one Sunday morning with the St Andrews Geography Society, who already have a coastal monitoring programme on these sands. Just under one tonne of CO2 equivalent saved. St Andrews is the prestige beach. The reputational gateway. If the R&A and the University endorse the Sovereign Beach model on the West Sands, every Scottish council north of the Forth opens. Aberdeen, Nairn, Lossiemouth, Cullen, Findhorn — the entire Moray Firth coast becomes accessible. The pitch to St Andrews is academic: this is verified scientific data on plastic load, not a charity drive. The university has the field instruments. We have the ledger. They count, we cash, the food bank in Anstruther gets the meals. Four passes a year and St Andrews delivers 100 verified meals from the cleanest band on the Scottish east coast.
